Northrop Grumman has selected ICAN's AIS products for the U.S. Coast Guard's Nationwide AIS core data exchange contract

Northrop Grumman has chosen International Communications and Navigation Limited (ICAN), a leader in Automatic Identification System (AIS) focused marine products, to deliver key components of the core data exchange as part of the U.S. Coast Guard’s Nationwide Automatic Identification System (NAIS) Project. These components include ICAN’s Logical Shore Station (DataSwitch), Data Storage and Playback application (DataStore) and AIS Service Management application (Maestro). The core data exchange consists of all the system components and functionality including AIS receive and transmit messaging, data processing, data storage and retrieval, and system monitoring which will be delivered to Coast Guard Sectors Delaware Bay, Philadelphia, Hampton Roads, Virginia and Mobile, Alabama.

ICAN is part of the CNS Systems Group and is based in Mt. Pearl, Newfoundland, Canada. ICAN designs and implements sophisticated navigation and communications software including Electronic Charting Systems (ECS) designed on the International Maritime Organization’s specification for electronic chart display and information systems.
