Technical Sales Representative
Description:
This technical sales position requires a person with experience
in the marine Electronic Charting System (ECS) market who can
develop sales leads, work with the potential client through the
sales cycle and provide installation and technical support after the
sale.
Responsibilities:
- Initiate sales campaigns and follow ICAN marketing
guidelines to meet sales expectations.
- Identify new business leads through trade show and
conference attendance, monitoring of federal business
opportunities websites, and leads provided by existing clients.
- Contact new and existing customers to discuss their needs
and explain how these needs could be met using ICAN products and
services.
- Develop and deliver proposals and quotations to customers.
Proposals can range in complexity from a simple commercial off
the shelf software sale to the development of a sophisticated
data collection, routing and display solution.
- Make presentations at conferences and tradeshows.
- Demonstrate and explain operation and use of ICAN software
products.
- Arrange for installation and test evaluation of software
systems.
- Inform customers of estimated delivery schedules and

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environment Studies, Geography or a
related major.
- Five years of experience as a Geographer, Hydrographer,
Product Manager, Sales Manager or a related occupation in the
electronic charting systems field.
- Must be willing to travel on a regular basis and work in
environments ranging from ocean-going vessels to office
buildings.
- Employee may work from home anywhere within the United
States.
- Extensive travel throughout the United States is required.
