Mount Pearl, NL – October 25, 2005 – ICAN was awarded the prestigious
Premier’s Award at the Mount Pearl Chamber of Commerce’s Best in Business
Awards Banquet on October 19, 2005. The award is presented annually to the
Member Company that has exemplified excellence in their industry.
Nominations come from members of the business community and the recipient is
chosen by the Chamber of Commerce’s Selection Committee. Other nominees in
the category included BREN/KIR Industrial Supplies, Household Movers,
Newfoundland Credit Union, Staples, and Waterworks.
Parliamentary Secretary Dave Denine, the MHA for Mount Pearl, presented
the award to Brian Whiteway, ICAN’s Vice-President and Chief Financial
Officer. Mr. Whiteway and several other ICAN employees attended the banquet
on behalf of the company.
ICAN President Neil Chaulk was visiting customers in the US at the time
of the Banquet and was unable to attend, but was thrilled to learn that ICAN
had been selected from the pool of exceptional nominees. “It is wonderful to
receive such recognition locally,” Mr. Chaulk said, adding, “This award is a
direct reflection of the entire ICAN team’s dedication to the company and to
the community.”
